We wanted to make you aware of another important change to the LL age requirements that have come down from Williamsport and how it will affect your child in the BASEBALL DIVISIONS ONLY (No affect to softball age requirements).
Over the past couple of years, there has been a lot of discussion about the Little League Baseball® Age
Determination Date. This is an important topic to everyone involved in Little League, and Little League has sought input from volunteers, parents, and coaches that has helped guide District Administrators and the Little League International Board of Directors to ultimately change the Age Determination Date for all divisions of Little League Baseball and the Little League Challenger Division® to August 31. At the fall 2015 meeting of the Little League International Board of Directors, it was approved to grandfather the four months of children born between May 1 and August 31, 2005, for the 2018 season, so that no child will lose their 12-year-old season of Little League Baseball.
Highlights of these changes are the following:
· No change for any player born prior to August 31, 2005
· Change will affect players born after August 31, 2005 league age. Click here to determine your child's league age.
· Players born between September 1 to December 31 each year starting 2006 and prior will end up repeating their prospective 2015 Baseball age for the 2016 season.
This change ensures that no player will lose a year of participation in the Little League Majors Division that culminates with the annual Little League Baseball World Series in South Williamsport, Pa.
Rocky Hill Little League Board of Directors has met and are adapting to the new age rules that are going to be put in place for this upcoming season. Your child will continue in the same path of development from when they started Tee Ball while still following our division break down click here to view. Our Division Directors will be working on adapting updated rules for each of the Minor League Division to help with our development of each child.
We will host an informational session on this change during our Walk-in Registration on Saturday January 30th at 10am in the RH Community Center.
In the meantime, should you have any questions on this, please feel free to contact our Baseball Player Agent Jason Myers or myself.
Looking forward to starting the 2016 RHLL Season!
