2024 Summer Baseball

District All-Stars:
RHLL will be starting the District All-Star team selection process the weekend of June 9 th . In the past,
Rocky Hill Little League has featured three (3) teams, and this year RHLL will determine the appropriate
teams based on the Commitment Letter responses.  

The three (3) teams being considered are:
  • 10U District All Stars (Little League Ages 8-10)
  • 11U District All Stars (9-11)
  • 12U District All Stars (10-12)

The 11U and 12U District All-Star rosters are comprised of players from the Majors level who have been
voted and selected to the respective rosters by their peers as well as the Majors managers and their
assistant coaches. There will be a tryout for the 10U District All-Star team tentatively scheduled for 8:00
am on Sunday, May 19th . All 9 and 10 yr old players in Majors are invited to participate along with a select
list of 8/9/10 year old AAA players nominated by their coach if they complete the Commitment Letter.  

Things to keep in mind as a parent and player when considering eligibility for District All-Stars: 
  • It is first and foremost an honor to play representing your Town and Rocky Hill Little League.
  • It is a significant commitment in time, energy, and effort. Practices are held daily for 90 - 120
minutes and will begin on or around June 10th . There is travel involved in State to various
locations. Start times for games are typically at 6:00 pm with arrival times to the field at 5:00 pm.
 
District All-Stars has different positional requirements than Rocky Hill Little League. It is
important to know that playing time and positional placement is at the discretion of the Manager.
RHLL requires a Commitment Letter for the District All-Star balloting process. We encourage all players
to fill out and submit the Commitment Letter which will get their name on the All-Stars Ballot. The
information you provide on the Commitment Letter is very important. With summer vacations and
previous family commitments, there are those that cannot commit to a "summer full of baseball" so we
want to be sure that we are not negatively impacting other players during the balloting process. It is also
important for players and parents to consider/discuss which District All Star team is a more appropriate
opportunity for their player should they be eligible for multiple teams.  

 
Summer Travel:
For those players who are not selected to play on the District All-Star teams, RHLL has a program that
will include baseball players that want to continue playing through the summer season. The Summer
Travel program has 3 levels of play based on age and depending on number of players interested:
  • 8U Baseball (League ages 7-8)*
  • 10U Baseball (9-10)*
  • 12U Baseball (11-12)*

* Depending on the number of players registered, number of coaches and number of teams, the
League may need to limit Summer Travel team rosters to a manageable size by holding tryouts
for registered players.
There is a commitment to playing travel baseball. The cost will be determined once the team(s) are put
together, but we are hopeful to have a summer baseball sponsor to help defray the fees. Uniforms,
equipment such as balls, and umpires are all items included in the costs. Games will be played in
surrounding towns and cities like West Hartford, East Hartford, Hartford, Newington, Glastonbury, and
Middletown, for example. These are competitive leagues. Games and practices will begin in middle to late
June and continue through to the first weekend of August. Typically, there will be 10-12 games with a
post-season tournament. In addition to the two to three games a week, there will be practices scheduled
in between the games. In order to make sure we are able to plan accordingly, we need to know by June
3rd if your child is interested in playing on a Summer Travel team.
